From Scuffs to Secrets
I never planned to start a cleaning brand.
I've always been the person who notices a little mark and then can't stop thinking about how to get it off. I want the things we've worked hard for in our home to keep looking new.
But I also have two sons. I want them to have the best childhood, without me stopping them every two minutes because I'm worried about a mark or stain. I want them to enjoy our home. At the same time, I can't switch off that need in me to keep things looking pristine.
So I'd spend ages looking up what might shift a stain or scuff without ruining the surface underneath. At some point I stopped only searching for products and started imagining my own. I had the names and the bottles in my head before I had any idea how I'd actually make it happen. Then I thought, surely there must be other people like me?
I started ordering bits and bobs. I worked on the labels, changed my mind, changed them again, and worried over details I don't think anyone else would notice. Then came real bottles to fill and photograph, and a website to build. I've had plenty of moments where I've thought, have I completely got carried away here?
Spotless Secrets carries my husband's and my initials. When I was imagining the logo, I kept picturing the beach where we got married: the sand, the sea and the white curtains around the gazebo. I put them into the design so that, every time I pick up a bottle, there's a little reminder of that day and of us.
Now that idea has become four spot cleaners, each created for a real problem area in the home—the marks that used to send me searching for answers. I hope they find their way to the people I had in mind when I started. ✨🤫
